BETTER LEADERS. BETTER FUTURE.

‘I was previously a member of TEC before I sold my business. I enjoyed sharing the challenges with other business people. Becoming a Chair has filled the need. TEC is a place to share ideas, grow as a person and spend time with like-minded people.’

Building successful businesses requires a knack for building great teams and great leaders. Peter Engelbert has a wealth of experience in both and shares his experience alongside operational expertise in his role as a TEC Chair.

Peter’s early career began in chemical engineering, quickly taking him into the food, pharmaceutical, building materials and FMCG industries. In 1998 he founded Woodchem Australia, a chemical plant. In five short years he built sales in excess of $35 million with a team of 30 and a market share of 25%.

After selling Woodchem, Peter moved into another C-level role with a start-up, developing a new technology for the fiberglass composite space. During this time he also provided mentoring expertise to a diverse range of companies across an equally diverse range of industries including food manufacturing, management consulting and medical supplies.

Peter’s niche experience set has given him insights into the challenges of building businesses from the ground up, as well as the ownership issues that are often hidden from corporate employees. This unique mix gives him the best of both worlds; the entrepreneurial lens for small business with knowledge of the systems and structure of larger corporations.

Other highlights from Peter’s career include:

  • Director of Englebert Investments.
  • Director of Chooky Holdings
  • COO of MIRteq
