BETTER LEADERS. BETTER FUTURE.

My own experience as a member demonstrated the enormous benefits TEC offers to its members to learn and grow as leaders. As Chairs we have the opportunity to build and facilitate a strong cohesive group who share their experience, learn, encourage and support each other on their journey to being better leaders and growing their businesses. Watching members develop is one of the great privileges this role provides.

Being highly practical, Joseph Scarf mentors the same way he runs companies; constantly striving to strike the right balance between long-term strategic vision and day-to-day detail. He strongly believes in the links between the right strategies, culture, capabilities and processes to achieve profitable and sustainable growth in business.

Joseph is a leader with over 20 years’ of CEO and MD-level management experience and has a talent for building brands into highly competitive, FMCG market leaders.

He has a wealth of knowledge across a wide range of industries, which has honed his ability to get to the root of business challenges quickly, then lead complex transformation and change management programs to achieve better outcomes.

His role as Energizer Holdings’ regional vice president for Oceania saw him tasked with driving profitable and sustainable growth for all markets in the region. More recently, Joseph has led a number of Asia-wide projects for a number of businesses including developing a regional accelerated growth plan, transformational cost reduction and ultimately the split of an organisation into two companies.

Key achievements in his career have included championing transformative cultural change across all business units within an organisation; consistent sales, profit and market share growth in all markets and successful integration of acquisitions.

Other highlights from his career include:

  • CEO level experience for a number of Australian and APAC organisations
  • Initiating and leading comprehensive change programs that transformed the performance of FMCG businesses across the region into market leaders.
  • P&L management, strategic marketing, business development, negotiating partnerships, outsourcing, and organisational restructuring for various organisations in the APAC region
