TEC Chair: Small Business Program
‘TEC and its members provide a valuable forum for SME owners, CEOs and business leaders to grow personally and professionally in a fast changing, volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous environment. I am privileged as a TEC Chair to be a facilitator of change, growth, learning, personal connection, perspective and support to my group members.’
I have extensive experience working with chief executives and senior executives in the private sector, particularly professional services, in Australia. As a a chartered accountant and chartered secretary, I spent 26 years with Price Waterhouse/PricewaterhouseCoopers in various consulting and practice management roles.
My most recent significant role with PwC was National Operations Director from 2001-2005 where I was responsible for a number of shared service functions and teams including change management projects, credit control, facility management, practice management systems, resource management and secretarial/document processing services. I gained extensive change management and team leadership experience through my involvement in the merger of the legacy firms of PwC in 1998, the rationalisation and reorganisation of various business units therein, and then the subsequent strategic realignment of the firm to meet changing external market demands.
In 2007, I set up my own business, www.peterblackcoaching.com, providing executive coaching, career transition consulting, on-boarding and professional practice management consulting services. From 2007-2011, I also consulted to global career transition company DBM and various individual clients undertaking career transition and executive coaching programs. As well as being a TEC Chair, I have been appointed by the Australian Computer Society as their preferred career and executive coach, am a specialist retirement presenter for the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA) and also provides audio recordings for Business Essentials. I’ve also been profiled and engaged by the ICAA in relation to my enabling and adaptation of various social media platforms for business purposes.
