Joining a TEC group as a member many years ago was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. At the time as a business owner who was enjoying some success I was being confronted with new challenges and opportunities that required big decisions. Decisions that had a significant impact on the business, I had no sounding board that could productively challenge me, and I was accountable only to myself….it was lonely! I subsequently joined a TEC group. Each month 15 of us, all SME business leaders would meet in a structured format and get to know each other and each other’s businesses. The opportunity to table key issues confidentially with this peer group was extraordinary and often powerful. You are challenged and held accountable to the group and whilst this can sometimes take you outside your comfort zone, I’m convinced it resulted in better decision making. The TEC program was crucial in supporting the long-term success of my business.
I’m delighted to be re-engaging TEC once more as I build my own group as a TEC Chair. I’m looking to bring together energized SME business leaders committed to growth and continuous development and quite simply get more out of life.’

Craig Smith has been involved in the travel industry for over 30 years'. Currently a director at Anjuna an aviation solutions company, servicing airlines and associated businesses.
In 1988 he launched a startup retail business with two staff and grew the business to 100+ staff with multiple offices. Grabbing the opportunity he took the company through a merger with a competitor, creating one of Australia’s largest independent Travel Management Companies.
Subsequently taking on an executive role at Corporate Travel Management (CTM) for a further 8 years'. This created the platform for what was a very successful public float in 2010 and today CTM operates in over 70 countries with a market capitalization of over $3 billion.
Prior to 1988 Craig gained extensive sales and marketing experience in the FMCG sector.
