Engineering and management has provided me with a wonderful career.  It has given me opportunities to commence new operations in technical and geographic areas I never believed would be available to me.  Opportunities such as being part of the company’s Strategy Team which lead to a four-fold increase in the overall business in 5 years and commencing new operations from scratch has given me a wonderful sense of what can be achieved through having goals and targets.  I have been fortunate to have worked with wonderfully talented people and have worked with them to realise their professional and personal aspirations.  My aim has always been to assist others to achieve their goals, whether they were clients, staff or the company’s executives.  When you focus outside yourself, it can be amazing to observe what comes back in return.

2007 was a highlight year for me as I was given the chance to complete the Senior Executive Program at the London Business School before relocating with my family to Ireland to commence the company’s European operations.  This proved to be a life changing move, both personally and professionally, and again demonstrated that when an opportunity presents itself, you need to be ready to step up.  To paraphrase Mark Twain, you only ever regret the things you don’t do in life.

My key focus area will be on clearly defining the real business problems and providing focus on the best of a good range of solutions.
